Weekend in Deutschland

Germany is a wonderful country. So many things are right. Everything is clean, ethical, nice, organised, and there are many more superlatives to describe Germany. We went for a weekend, visiting the closest cities to Belgium. The four cities in two days turned out to be Dusseldorf, Koln, Bonn and Monschau. All very different, yet very similar.

Memories of a Decade and a Half

Belgium is a place where I grew up, it is a place that I have known under different lights and as I grew, it grew with me. Years go by, interests develop and new facets are discovered very naturally. I don’t have enough space to write about a country bursting with history and so many things I want people to know about it. We have beaten the world record for a country with no government. We still make most of our beer in abbeys and have more than 5,000 different brands. The pissing boy has two legends and there is a pissing girl too!

Baguettes and Other Stories

I have become acquainted with Paris over the last thirteen years, following regular trips to the city branded the epicentre of love, dreams, and lights. Many people love Paris, hence I have been chosen as your eternal guide. I know Paris quite well, the tourist side at least. A big mistake that many make is relying on stereotypes, Paris is nothing like what they say. There are no princes on every corner, Parisian women are not all astonishing supermodels with an impeccable sense of style, nor does everyone eat baguettes or wear berets. Two things are true however, they all smoke and drink coffee!

A Roman Holiday

All roads lead to Rome, and so did mine. Rome, like the rest of the world capitals, is not Italy, but it is frighteningly close. I had the chance to experience a movie like Rome, granted it is not very hard due to the general mood of the Romans. I still do consider that everything that happened was because I threw a coin into the Trevi Fountain and made my usual wish, which came true. The best advice I can give for visiting Italy and especially Rome, is to walk into every little street and open door you see, there are surprises around every corner, and discoveries waiting to be made only by you.

Love and Hate in the City of Lights

Love-Hate relationships are close to me, but this one has seen a drastic transformation over the last few years. As I grow I start thinking that Moscow is like an adult movie, it shouldn’t be allowed for children. The lifestyle and what the city of lights has to offer can send you into a whirlwind of emotions and parental control is advised in the beginning. Over the years my relationship with Moscow has drastically changed. This city is like a good book or movie, the one where you discover something new every time you go back to it. My story with Moscow changes over certain periods of time.

A month with no sleep.

A month with no sleep.

Last year I spent a month in a summer language school to learn Spanish in Barcelona. To be honest the classes were just an excuse to spend as much time as I could afford in the city that swept me of my feet a mere half a year before.
