Guilt-Free Fine Dining at Indigo

Indigo is the flagship restaurant of the renowned One Aldwych Hotel and is a fine dining restaurant with a difference. Offering lunch and dinner, Indigo serves a delicious menu of British cuisine all free of dairy and gluten.

The chilled out vibe and ambience of Indigo is refreshingly cool and the restaurant overlooks the lobby bar from the mezzanine level of the hotel. Relaxed service and muted tones of colour throughout make it the perfect place to wind down. Contemporary artwork is tastefully hung from the walls and one can easily feel at home here.
Headed by Executive Chef Dominic Teague, he has taken his vision of dining to the next level and the seasonally changing menu champions great food without comprising on the taste by being gluten and dairy free.

Alternatives throughout the menu such as buckwheat flour and coconut milk give the dishes served a much-welcomed twist. Chef Dominic’s menu showcases a reimagined take on great English classics combining the dairy/gluten alternatives and innovative cooking techniques.

The straightforward menu features a selection of mains alongside items from the Grill and a create your own salad option. They serve gluten free bread to all diners which creates a good appetite for the food to follow.

The Organic Rhug Estate Pork is particularly nice to start, it comes served with a to-die-for truffled mayonnaise (yes I did ask for some on the side with the main) and comes beautifully presented on a bed of Crackling and Granny Smiths. The breast of Highland Partridge is also a noteworthy option and is cooked to perfection.

For mains, the Grill items are all quite a safe bet, the Steak is done well and comes with those fabulous hand-cut Chips. For something a little different, try the Skate Wing, pan fried it is topped with little prawns and a flavoursome Ice Wine Ver Jus creating a real fusion of flavours against the tender wing which literally melts in the mouth.

Finish off with one the delicious desserts and you’ll soon see why Indigo is becoming so increasingly popular amongst some of London’s most discerning diners. Highlights of the desserts menu include an Amedei Chocolate Mousse and the Signature Pavlova for two to share which changes every season.

Indigo is open daily and offers a set lunch pre-theatre and dinner menu priced at £20 for two courses or £25 for three. the restaurant also serves the a la carte menu all day long and opens for lunch from 12pm to 2.45pm Monday to Friday and dinner 5.30pm to 10.15pm Monday to Sunday.
