Japanese Ramen at MUGA

Muga is one of London's hidden gems, discreetly tucked away on a side street a stone's throw away from Theatreland, the all day dining concept serves traditional Japanese Ramen with a contemporary twist.

Simplicity is the key to Muga's success, the food is kept authentic and true to the flavours of Japan whilst it has been adapted to British tastes with the introduction of special dishes and flavours. The menu is a celebration of old fashioned Ramen and they have a choice of five different Ramen on offer, each inspired by local speciality from the Western and Eastern regions of Japan.

The ambience of Muga is low key yet chic, it's unpretentious stylings harmonise the food well and flashes of colour throughout make the space cosy and inviting. Images of the food in preparation adorn the walls and modern lightings give the restaurant a cool vibe.

Alongside the delicious Ramen on offer, Muga's a la carte menu also showcases the very best in Japanese cuisine. Starters range from classic dumplings, chicken karaage and the must have takoyaki octopus balls. For mains, the Ramen is of course the favourite, however, I often opt for the pork belly and some rice, it's quite simply, delicious.

Not just a great place for dinner, Muga is also notoriously popular for pre-theatre cocktail dates, their master mixologists can recommend the best Sake and it's great way of being introduced to the drink if it's a first time.

Open daily, Muga serves lunch 12-2.30pm, dinner 6-10pm Monday to Sunday and with a later opening until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
